A resonator is not better than a muffler, your exhaust system needs to create a certain amount of backpressure, a straight through resonator will not help with that. Although I thik the resonator essentially loudens the exhaust rather than muffling it, but it sounds a lot better than stock. Its not better in the sense that it will not add any power.
