No they are not going to put a HEMI in it,it wouldn’t pass the frontal crash test with a large motor.The engine is not that bad,I would add a cold air intake,exhaust and a power chip to give it more power.Not as easy as just slapping a HEMI in it,everything in the engine compartment would have to be moved.
they never should have quit using the 4.0 inline 6 that amc
designed and built as the replacement to the 4.2.the
problem with the v-6 is lack of torque. the i-6 makes more torque and has a way better bottom end for rock crawling.
it is a big mistake that chrysler needs to fix.
That motor is actually the ‘world’ motor. meaning Diamler-Chrysler used that same motor is many platforms.
Rumors are now that Chrysler has been saved from Diamler’s wrath, you MAY see a Hemi in the Wranglers.

there a lot of room forward of the v6 (long fan shroud) just right for the 5.7 or 6.1 hemi I hope, nothing official
