What would be the horsepower and the maximum top speed. It has 160 mph on the dash but it’s been tested to hit 135mph but no more because of the governor on the engine. It’s horsepower is 180. How much increase in horsepower and top speed am I looking at if I buy a supercharger for the 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S?

That’s similar to a RSX type S. And on a RSX type S I think if super charged/ turbo’d it can reach up to 290 Horse power.

Absolutely ZERO way to tell.
December 23rd, 2009 at 1:32 pmDepends on other mods. Depends on boost level of supercharger. Depends on octane.
Depends on YOUR driving ability. You could have a 1,000hp car, and never reach top speed, because of bad driving.
Also, you don’t have 180 horsepower. The engine does, without restrictions. Minus drivetrain loss, and the rest, and you’re down to around 140.
At best, and assuming you do nothing else with the engine but bolt the supercharger on…expect to see around 180-190 at the wheels. Maybe.

It depends on a lot of things, namely the boost level you’re running her at, and all other modifications done to the car. If your car has a governor, you will need something to eliminate it. Greddy offers a Speed Cut Controller, which is available through most aftermarket superstores. Here is one I found that was particularly affordablehttp://www.jazzproparts.com/Electronic_C…

the person above is right
December 23rd, 2009 at 2:32 pmpending on ammount of boost desiring
if you can only hit 135 on 180 you will need a fine tune as well
my integra was able to do that at 145 hp… so you need to work on your driving=)
superchargers add what 30-40%? not familiar with superchargers
according to some math
40% of 180 = 72 hp increase ( hypothetically)
ergo
180+72 = 252 bhp
but you lose some at the crank
so i would guess maybe 220-230 max
again pedning on your other mods, driving abilities, tires being used
there is no way to tell
after all the money you spend on the supercharger you still need to get it tuned
