Performance Exhausts Cure Those Hump Day Blues

1 December 2009 | No Comments » | admin

A disheveled Mr. Sweeny hurries into the Social Studies room moments after the bell rings ? late as usual. ?Happy Hump Day!? the class yells. Patrick Sweeny has been teaching Social Studies for thirteen years now. You would think he would have gotten the routine down, but tardiness is no stranger to Mr. Sweeny. He is usually found darting through the halls, in a constant state of disarray ? a pile of books under one arm, a briefcase under the other, coffee in one hand, a brown bag sack lunch in the other.

Style, on the other hand, is foreign language to him ? it went extinct with dinosaurs as far as Patrick Sweeny is concerned. One might think his wardrobe was similar to that of a superhero?s closet, consisting of multiple pairs of the same outfit, but the remnants of chalk dust and pit stains allude to a different, less exciting story.

?Hump day. I wish?? mumbles Mr. Sweeny softly under his breathe. Poor ole Sweeny boy hadn?t enjoyed the company of a woman in years, maybe decades. But can you blame him? Receding hairlines and bad hygiene aren?t exactly in style these days; well, maybe bad hygiene.

?Hey Mr. Sweeny, what are we learning about today?? asked Samantha Wilcott, a future valedictorian.

?Why don?t we start by going over last night?s homework? Everyone please take it out-?

?Sweeny, I want to see you out in the hall,? boomed Principle Harrison?s deep voice. He had the perfect voice for a principle. His vocal chords had the power to send chills down a freshman?s spine, the power to break up a fist fight, the power to sing ?Chocolate Rain.?

The kids in the classroom could hear the bass from Principle Harrison?s voice echoing, ?Sweeny, do you have any idea how many times you?ve been late this year??

Sweeny start to stammer, ?Well? I uh?Can?t recall the exact -?.

?38! 38 days. If you were a student you?d be held back. If you were my kid you?d be grounded. Heck, if this were taxes, you?d be arrested!?

Sweeny just stood there with his head hanging down, finally noticing the chalk dust covering his shirt. ?Point taken Greg.? Greg was Principal Harrison?s first name.

?I don?t mean to come down you, but you need to make it here on time. If you can?t, I will find someone who can.?

Sweeny nodded and returned to the classroom. He wasn?t in the mood for teaching anymore, or for talking at all for that matter. So he passed out a quiz and sat as his desk in silence.

The problem isn?t that he is lazy. The problem is that he is extremely disorganized. From the moment he wakes up, Mr. Sweeny is constantly playing catch up. Today he was out of toothpaste. If it?s not toothpaste he?s out of, it?s milk, or ink for his printer, or something else. He then has to drive over to the supermarket to get his supplies and ends up being late for work.

So how on earth will Sweeny be able to salvage his job, his dignity, and his life? It hit him like Babe Ruth knocking one out of the park. The problem was his car. His beat up little sedan was always having problems. He needed something, like Principle Harrison?s voice, that would let people know that he was coming and they better watch out.

He ended up attaching a growling, earth-shaking performance exhaust in combination with nice throaty air intake.

How is good ole Sweeny boy holding up now you ask? Let?s just say his car gave him a new image, a new image that the ladies love. Who would have known that adding Inexpensive Performance Exhaust and an Inexpensive Injen Cold Air Intake could turn one?s life around? Crazy. ? Mike Rosania

How Is Nascar Allowing Johnson To Do That?

1 December 2009 | 12 Comments » | admin

Jimmie Johnson makes me sick. They’re allowing him to go faster than pit road speed as long as he backs it down when he gets to the timing lap?
That’s wrong. The other drivers are following that rule for the pit crew safety. Johnson doesn’t care about anything except himself. NASCAR needs to do something about this.

Tired, Exhausted, Fatigue – Find Relief With Concentrated Omega3 Fish Oil

1 December 2009 | No Comments » | admin

Feeling tired, exhausted or continuously fatigued can make your life miserable. You may be suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or there may be other causes of your fatigue.

Generally if this has persisted for several weeks or even months you should consider consulting a physician or your general practitioner. On the other hand you may consider trying to change your diet and lifestyle. If you are aware of changes that would improve your general health and possibly relieve your fatigue this may be a simple solution. Consider the follow possible changes:

Stop smoking – Smoking effects the capacity of the lungs to supply your body with life giving oxygen Drink Six to Eight Glasses of water per day – Water flushes toxins from your system Eat Plenty of Fruit – Fruit contains natural sugars rather refined sugars Taking dietary supplements that will supply nutrients that your diet is deficient of

One of the important supplements you should consider is concentrated fish oil capsules. These fish oil capsules contain Omega3 fats which are essential fatty acids. Essential fatty acids are fats that are required by the body for its functioning but that the body cannot manufacture itself. Essential fatty acids must be contained in the diet and are converted by the body in fatty acids that can be used within the body. These are known as DHA and EPA and are important in the functioning of the body.

A lack of Omega3 fatty acids have been shown in medical studies to have the following effects on the body:

Arrhythmias – Disturbing abnormal electrical activity in the heart Lower Triglyceride Levels – Triglycerides are an important source of energy and transport of dietary fats Lower Blood pressure – This can lead to fatigue and dizziness

Low levels of Omega3 fats in the system are also related to:

Poor Circulation Memory Problems Depression Tiredness and Chronic Fatigue (CFS)

Considering these effects of the lack of essential fatty acids, diet becomes a very important factor when considering strategies to overcome fatigue. Omega3 fatty acids are contained in foods such as grains, nuts, vegetable oils and cold water oily fish. The grains which contain these fats are flax seeds. Nuts high in fatty acids are walnuts. Olive oil is also high in omega3 fats.

One of the most common sources of Omega3 fatty acids is cold water oily fish such as salmon, sardines, tuna and halibut. Fish caught in the wild are higher in these fatty acids because they consume naturally available algae which are converted by the fish into Omega3 fats.

If you are suffering from fatigue you may consider using dietary supplements containing these Omega3 fats. These are usually available as gelatin capsules which are easy to take and have a long self life. When purchasing these supplements try to find the most concentrated and purest capsules available.

Generally they are produced using micro distillation processes that ensure there are no contaminants in the end product. Before starting a program of supplements always consult your general practitioner or physician or at least make them aware that you are doing so.

An Omega3 supplement program will not be an instant solution to fatigue but in the long term you will find that you have more energy, feel better and can enjoy life more. Start now to improve your well being by taking Omega3 supplements.

A Healthy Body is a Happy Body.

Getting a New Car Vs. your Old One

1 December 2009 | No Comments » | admin

To some, it may be inevitable that their Acura car repair and maintenance costs are already too high. There are several factors affecting this situation. It could be that the primary reasons for these costs are the Acura mufflers. But an evaluation process can help in determining whether to buy a new one or continue repairing the old one.

First things first; by yourself, perform an evaluation of your vehicle. Check the brakes, vehicle pull, automatic shifting, manual shifting, oil or fluid leaks, accessories, upholstery, inside trunk, wheel wells, under hood, tires, etc. If most are still functioning well, it means it is not yet time to replace your Acura car.

The next process is the determination of what future maintenance cost will or could be incurred when you buy a new one. Take your car to the mechanic and pay them to inspect all the items. The cost of these inspections should be fairly inexpensive, and the information they will provide will be more than worth the expense. Add up all recommended repair costs plus all previous repairs during the year. Divide this number by 12 to determine your average repair cost for the given year. However, this number will not include any breakdown or unexpected repairs.

Then, know the cost of your car. Trading in your vehicle for a new car is the easiest, but it will not bring in the most money for you. Compare properly the cost of your old car plus its maintenance cost and the cost of the new one you are about to buy plus the car?s ?would be? maintenance cost.

When finally decided to buy a new car, in place of the old one, there are things to consider.

One is the used cars? history reports. Never buy a used car without knowing its history reports such as accidents incurred, repairs, and damages even the minor ones. These might be a big reason for a high car maintenance cost when the car is already in your procession.

Another thing to keep in mind is the extended warranties or service contracts. If you’re shopping for new or used cars, you can protect yourself against most major repair bills by purchasing a car with good extended warranty. But don’t pay those high dealership prices just to get a little peace of mind! If you already bought new or used cars without getting an extended warranty, you can still purchase one as long as the vehicle is within certain mileage limits. Vehicles that are still covered by the manufacturer’s original warranty usually qualify for new car rates; vehicles with expired warranties are all rated as used cars.

Why Is Nascar Covering Up The Cheating Of The 48 Team?

1 December 2009 | 27 Comments » | admin

Its so obvious that NASCAR caught the two Hendrick teams cheating and didn’t do anything. What happen to the zero tolerance rule on the COT? Is it because of the tough economy and empty seats? Are they afraid of the negative publicity?

Hello everyone out there in the automotive world. Im 16, dad gave me his prized possession of a 1967 Pontiac GTO. Im so stoked on it and have been wanting to have a project car for a while. The body work and interior is all being done by body shops and other professionals like that. My problem is working with my engine. Its beautiful and sounds like a BEAST, but i want to learn more about it, and frankly its a lot. i get the main concept of how motors run and what a carb. is and fuel injectors, but like i want to sup this babby up!! put some performance parts on her. people say the easiest way to learn is by taking your car apart and putting it back to gether.! Bull Shi+. You dont know the names and what they do! so people i want a real answer. something that will help me.
(maybe study it?? take class at community college?)
i dono you tell me!

Using Local Exhaust Ventilation to Control Hazardous Chemical Exposures

1 December 2009 | No Comments » | admin

There are several methods to control hazardous chemicals. The best method is to eliminate it; the next best solution is to substitute a less toxic or less hazardous chemical for the one in use. If the substance in use cannot be engineered out and there is no way to prevent all harmful levels of exposure, then ventilation is used. The next best method is the wear of personal protective equipment and, when there is no way to control exposure, to regulate the amount of time an employee can be exposed to the chemical through administrative controls. A combination of general ventilation (whole area air circulation) and local ventilation is commonly employed.

Local ventilation is provided through vacuum air suction for removing vapors, gases, and particulates at the source of the airborne contamination. It is a major engineering control for removing hazardous chemical vapors, dusts, and fumes from the point of generation. The vacuuming action prevents the contaminant from entering the worker’s breathing zone or from entering general air. There are several types and many applications of local ventilation systems.

Use an enclosed hood when conducting chemical experiments and pouring hazardous materials. These types of enclosed hoods are called chemical fume hoods. They control vapor or particle generation during pouring operations, involving highly reactive or corrosive chemicals or carcinogens. These hoods have a lift or swing door for access at the front of the enclosure.

Use the glove box for greater contaminant exposure control. During normal use, the hood can not be opened; operations and manipulations are performed by putting hands and arms into rubberized/flexible gloves. Glove boxes are normally used when the risk of exposure to minute amounts of a hazardous substance can not be tolerated for the amount of time it takes to complete a task.

A commonly used local ventilation vacuum system is the movable “elephant trunk.” The exhaust intake is at the end of a movable or fixed position intake system consisting of a hood over the generation point. Examples of local ventilation at the generation point include capture of airborne contaminants generated by use of solvents, cutting oils, soldering and brazing materials.

What Year And Series Bmw Would Make A Good First Car?

1 December 2009 | 9 Comments » | admin

I am looking to get a BMW soon, and I have heard good things about the E30 and E36s. Both being from the 90s, they would be in my price range.
Which year and series BMW would make a good first car, when taking into account reliability, and cost.
Also, how many miles should I look for on it?

Western Automakers Looking for Better Car Component Suppliers in Russia

1 December 2009 | No Comments » | admin

The auto industry is beset with various problems — if it?s not about overproduction, lack of funds, then it would be union problems, and if it?s not about the workers then there?s always the problems on late arrival of parts and the list goes on.

And just recently a lot of the Western automakers have to stop or slow down production due to the delay in the shipment of parts that got stuck in customs. And one of these automakers is Ford that ran short on components and was forced to scale back production of cars at its plant near St. Petersburg.

According to the head of the Western supplier?s Russian operations, “We were certainly not happy, that’s for sure. There have been a number of problems with customs clearance.” He also requested that his name as well as his company?s name be withheld in the fear of antagonizing the authorities.

The problem that Ford experience with the spare-parts shipment is also experience by other car plants across the country and is said to be getting worst. It can be remembered that foreign carmakers rushed to build plants after the government announced two years ago that it is rolling out the red carpet. But now after the multimillion-dollar announcements have been made and the fanfare has died down, the giant automakers are becoming aware that there are shortage of quality auto components that they need for the assembly of their Camrys, Logans, and Passats.

To obtain their needed parts most carmakers are bringing in components via the rail, road, and sea from abroad. This is despite the fact that they have the obligation to source more components locally in the near future. Most of the foreign parts makers are just starting to open shop which means that they cannot provide yet the required volume of component parts that various automakers require for their productions on the other hand Russian-produced components are not quality enough to pass assembly requirements according to industry executives.

The local car industry is handicapped by the quality of local suppliers who according to Carl Hahn– Chairman emeritus of Volkswagen– are far below world standards. Hahn was given the tasked of helping Volkswagen enter Russia.

Volkswagen has recently chosen a site near Moscow for the construction of its future Volkswagen plant where both Skoda and Volkswagen models are to be assembled and that area is the Kaluga—which is about 120 kilometers south of Moscow where most of the suppliers are. Unfortunately, even in Moscow there are not enough suppliers to supply and create the auto components like VW mufflers that the automaker needs for its vehicles.

The automakers that have taken their production to Russia includes Ford Motor, Renault, Kia Motors, Volkswagen, General Motors, Toyota, and Nissan but only the last four automakers have announced their plans of building plants in Russia. It is no secret that sales in Western markets is not only saturated but stagnating, which leaves carmakers to take their chance on Russia where nearly any foreign car sells well.

Last year, Ford Focus garnered Russia?s best-selling foreign model an honor that Ford has never achieve in its own home market. GM?s Chevrolet Niva that was built in partnership with AvtoVAZ was proclaimed the second-best selling vehicle according to the Association of European Businesses in Russia.

Most of you must be thinking why did automakers choose Russia as their new production haven? Russia is an ideal country to produce cars since the government has scrapped tariffs on key car components to encourage carmakers to assemble their vehicles here. All the government is asking is from the carmakers in return for the favor they have given is to gradually increase the proportion of domestically produced parts that they use to 30 percent within 4
