It doesn’t necesarrily shorten engine life, atleast if you have the proper setup and everything needed to go along w/ a supercharger (i.e. intercooler, upgraded fuel pump, upper/lower intake manifold, injectors, etc.)

The only things I can think of are:

More fuel consumption.
More speeding tickets.
Void of warranty.
But, it sounds fun if you have the time and the money to do it right.
