The Chrysler Sebring – An American Alien?

3 January 2010 | No Comments » | admin

The life of a Sales Rep must be a very strange one indeed; your life is essentially constantly in a transitory state. It is a life spent on motorways; take-out coffee in beverage holder and unopened Ginster’s Pasty on the passenger seat. The handsfree mobile phone kit never stops ringing long enough to get through even one song from the hastily bought CD Power Ballads compilation from the last service station. Uncomfortable surroundings, excessive travel and poor diet mean that your average sales rep (though personable and up-beat on the exterior) is a bitter wreck of anger and bile on the inside. OK, maybe that is a bit too far, but a life on the road isn’t going to be pleasurable unless you have the right transportation to move you around. Thus the Saloon was born.

The perennial favourite Saloon in the UK is the Ford Mondeo; a car so popular it has coined the phrase ‘Mondeo-man’, the term used largely to describe the very typical demographic who drive it. There are other popular options to consider however: The main competition for the Mondeo’s crown includes such automotive luminaries as Volkswagen’s Passat and Audi’s A4. The choice seems solely dependent on whether the Rep in question works for a blue chip company and has a company car (expect to see an Audi of BMW), or is paying the petrol costs themselves (most probably a Mondeo or Honda Accord). There are, however, other manufacturers trying to get in on this lucrative marketplace. One such example is the Chrysler Sebring.

To a majority of British drivers, American cars don’t represent a viable solution to a good drive on our roads. A lot of American cars have notoriously heavy handling, which is perfectly fine on long, straight interstates, but around curving and winding country roads that make up a large percentage of the British road network, they are simply not practical. It would be more accurate to say they were the automotive equivalent of a suicide note; you’re last few precious seconds spent wrestling violently with the steering wheel trying to navigate your American car away from the fast approaching trees.

Chrysler have taken British criticism seriously. Rather than accuse us of whingeing and being bad drivers, they have specifically engineered a car for Europe. The resulting Sebring is meant to offer a large American option to the modern day executive, without compromising on handling ability, comfort or performance. It is still a big car and frankly, why would you buy an American car if you didn’t want it ’supersized’?

And supersized it is…well the boot is anyway. You could most probably transport a whole horse in the rear storage space on the Sebring. Quite why the Chrysler designers considered it necessary to include a boot the size of an aircraft carrier is a little beyond me, but space is always welcome. There are also a selection of impressive-sounding engines, including a fearsome 2.7 Litre V6 which will make mince meat out of your eardrums as well as the tarmac.

It is a little difficult to see how well the Sebring will fit into the British marketplace; we are famous for our understated reserve after all. The Sebring is perhaps a little more ostentatious than the Ford Mondeo and doesn’t produce anywhere as good miles per gallon ration as most of its competitors, so it probably won’t attract too many fleet orders from companies looking for company cars. If you wish you were travelling down Route 66 in an outsized saloon instead of tootling along the A46 in your Mondeo though, the Chrysler Sebring might be worth a look.

What are Hybrid Automotives?

3 January 2010 | No Comments » | admin

The vehicles that use two power sources in conjunction with one another are called hybrid automotives or hybrid vehicles. The history of hybrid power technology is very old. It dates back to the time when diesel electric submarines were first used.

The idea is quite simple, use two power sources to increase the overall efficiency.
Now the question arises that why it was needed. The answer is simple, it was realized that an average person would not be able to afford gasoline in the near future. CO2 emissions will also increase similarly an average person does not require a V8, he/she just needs enough power to reach his destination in time. A V8 as well as a small vehicle can accomplish this. So the hybrid vehicle was introduced.

How it works?

The hybrid vehicle works by using electric as well as gasoline power. Diesel electric vehicles are also there but there numbers are quite low. The hybrid vehicle works by using electric power when the requirement for engine power is low for example when starting the vehicle and up to the speed of 30-40 mph as the electric source cannot run a vehicle by itself.

What is the basic idea behind Hybrid automotives?

The basic idea is to use a smaller lightweight engine to run a vehicle up to a required speed and when the car has to accelerate then the electric source can add some extra power to gain more speed. As a 1.0 liter engine can also move at 75 mph just like a V8 although the V8 has more acceleration power so why waste fuel on a muscle car when a 1.0-liter vehicle can work for you.

Types of Gasoline Hybrid Vehicles

There are two main types of gasoline hybrid vehicles: parallel hybrid car and series hybrid car. The series hybrid car uses the gasoline engine to turn a generator that can either charge the batteries or run an electric motor whereas the parallel hybrid car can combine the two power sources to give more power or the same amount of power but with a better mileage.

Body Structure of Hybrid Vehicles

Now the question arises how the hybrid vehicle can deliver these types of performances when they have such a small engine. They do so by using lightweight materials like carbon fiber composites, low-rolling resistance tires and advanced aerodynamics to reduce drag. The hybrids can even turn the gasoline engine off when not needed such as when stopping at traffic lights. Some vehicles even use the electric power to gain a speed of 30 to 40 KM/h. Some vehicles also use regenerative braking. By this method when breaks are applied, the car decreases the speed by cutting some amount of power. This power is then used by the generator to generate electric power that can be stored for later use.

The price of these vehicles start from 23000$ and they reach up to 54000$. There are some hybrid SUVs are also available in the market.

2 January 2010 | 1 Comment » | admin

If you want to supercharge your sex drive then need plenty of testosterone and the 3 herbs will see you get it naturally and safely and they also help libido in other ways which we will look at in this article…

Mucuna Pruriens Extract

Medical studies have proved mucuna pruriens anabolic and growth hormone stimulant properties.
The anabolic effect of the seed increases testosterone. In 2002, a U.S. patent was filed on the use of mucuna pruriens to stimulate the release of growth hormone in humans.

How does it do it?

The high levels of l-dopa in the mucuna are converted to dopamine. This then stimulates the release of testosterone by the pituitary gland.

L-dopa and dopamine are also effective inhibitors of prolactin and if levels of prolactin are too high it can have a negative affect on libido. Surprisingly it’s considered responsible for 70-80% of all erection failures.

Tongkat Ali Extract

The root of the Eurycoma longifolia tree has been used for centuries as a traditional remedy for fatigue, tiredness loss of sexual desire, and erectile dysfunction.

The bioactive Glygopeptide compounds in the herb were shown to increase free testosterone and decrease SHBG levels in humans. Both assist the ability, to get an erection and hold it for longer performance. Tongakat ali increases sperm count, sperm size and motility. Finally it protects against free radical damage in the body.

Epimedium Grandiflorum Extract – “Horny Goat Weed”

This herb has catchy name but it’s also very potent as a libido enhancing herb, correcting both low levels of testosterone and returning the thyroid hormone to normal, improving sex drive.

These are herbs that proven to increase testosterone and if you add them to your diet in sufficient dosage you can get this key hormone without the need to resort to testosterone replacement therapy which is far more expensive and further more because you are increasing testosterone naturally you are doing it as nature intended.

Also these herbs perform other functions that help sex drive for example Horny Goat Weed decreases stress and increase energy to make you feel in the mood as well as increasing nitric oxide levels.

Low levels of nitric oxide are another key cause of low libido, as it’s the chemical you must have to get an erection. If you don’t get enough of it you wont get one.

It allows the blood vessels of the penis to relax and blood to flood in and create an erection. So not only are you getting a good dose of herbs that can increase testosterone, your also getting your nitric oxide levels topped up at the same time.

There are other herbs which help to combat other causes of low libido and we will look at nitric oxide and the other reasons, in part 2 of this article series.

Honda to benefit from GM, Chrysler spinning their Wheels

2 January 2010 | No Comments » | admin

You know lately, the media has been focused on what is going to happen to some of America?s biggest business icons: GM and Chrysler

While there?s nothing wrong with that, my mind always has ?the wheels turning? and wondering how I can profit from what?s going on in the media. So many people watch the news for everything from ?entertainment to information?. However, I watch it to derive an investing idea out of it.

With the focal point being on a GM/Chrysler bankruptcy, their bleeding and ?wheel spinning?, it gives the CEO of Honda and other Asian automakers (and even Korean automakers like Hyundai) an edge at this time.

You see, as the auto industry got hit from the global slow down, GM (GM), Ford (F) and Chrysler took it on the chin the worst. However, Honda, Toyota and Mazda had something haunting them too?it was the strong yen. As the yen rose, it eroded their profits even more.

However, lately the Asian automaker stocks (symbols: HMC, TM) have stabilized.
