I am planning on buying a used BMW 318i automatic (the shape from mid 1999). I have seen a lot of cheap ones but with high mileage (100k +). I just wondered how many more miles before the autogear box packs up or needs serious attention. Thanks.

I recently bought a BMW 320i (55 plate) and somebody told me that I could listen to my mp3 through the car’s speakers. I’ve found a sort of plug socket in the middle glove compartment that looks as if it should be a connection but theres no way of connecting it to my mp3. Is there some sort of attatchment I need to buy, or is there some other problem?

I want to buy a 1997 BMW 318i but I am a home mechanic and have no trouble working on my Ford’s or GM’s. I am wondering what the difference is and if i could work on my own BMW. I don’t want to do any major motor work just the basics. Example: Starter, Oil changes, Alternator, Tune up. What are some of the differences or obsticals i can come to expect. Is it an easy transition?
