The 300 and Chrysler Parts

17 November 2009 | No Comments » | admin

By the end of 2007, Chrysler is no longer part of the DaimlerChrysler AG. This is just one of the changes that Chrysler has gone through. Even before, Chrysler?s founder has been noted for setting out the company?s fortune and future in rather unstable situations. It is when the Walter Chrysler chose to help in saving companies than making way for his own to grow. Despite this changes that the company has experienced, there is one thing that has remained the same – the quality of Chrysler parts. Chrysler has proven that changes should not be feared but rather be faced with positivism.

Chrysler has 6 car models that are out today in the market. Among this 6 models include the Chrysler 300 and the PT Cruiser. The Chrysler 300 is one of the most famous car models of Chrysler. Several Hollywood celebrities and other personalities get to own this model because of its luxurious appearance and its undeniably top of the line Chrysler parts. The company is not just focused on producing cars. They also create their own exclusive Chrysler parts. One of the examples of these creations is the MoPar oil filter used for 1956-62 Chrysler car models. The MoPar oil filter was packaged with the Chrysler?s insignia printed on it. Other names of parts that can be directly attributed to Chrysler are the Airtemp and the Torsion-Aire terms for air conditioning and suspension systems respectively.

Nowadays, the Chrysler 300 is introduced with many changes and improvements. It comes with satisfactorily standard features like the air-conditioning. Engine was increased in terms of capability with 2.7 liter V6 that is able to generate 178 horsepower. Chrysler parts certainly correspond with the engine?s capacity like with 3.9 axle ratio that is able to help the engine with acceleration and pulling ability. 59 other features of Chrysler 300 are also confidently introduced by the company. From this 59 showcased features include the Pressure Monitor and Warning Signal, Sentry Key Engine Immobilizer Theft-Deterrent, Electroluminescent Instrument Cluster, seatbelts, Brake-Park Interlock, etc.

The years ahead will surely open opportunities for Chrysler LLC to further enhance and develop its product and parts. With recent gains in the market, the company will make its way to the top. With this, it will surely continue to provide customers the driving quality they expect as well as meet or even exceed their expectations.

Chrysler Service

How to save money on your next Chrysler service

Chrysler servicing is now much cheaper, for those in the know.

Thanks to European legislation, you no longer have to be tied to high Chrysler service costs, dictated by your local dealer.

In October 2003 new European legislation affecting the motor industry came into force called ?Block Exemption Regulation? 14002002 (BER), and this now means that you can book your next Chrysler car service online and save up to 50% on what you might pay at your local Chrysler dealer.

Before the law changed it was difficult to have new cars within their warranty period serviced outside a franchised dealer. If you wanted to shop around for the best prices on Chrysler servicing, your hands were tied.

The change in the law now gives every car owner the freedom to service their car away from the main dealers, and still have their warranty protected.

Thousands of Chrysler car owners have now taken advantage of their new right and reduced their Chrysler serving costs, whilst benefiting from the convenience of booking with national car service providers such as Service A Car.

Service A Car is a leading online car servicing network that prides itself on the quality of its Chrysler servicing, their customer service and transparent pricing. Because the company is not tied to any particular car manufacturer, they are able to service any make of vehicle and compete freely in the market, on a like-for-like.

Every vehicle is rigorously serviced according to the manufacturer?s servicing schedule, using genuine recommended parts fitted by qualified technicians. This means that every Chrysler car service fulfils the warranty criteria and there is no compromise on the servicing standards of a main dealer.

Companies like Service A Car, who fulfil the warranty criteria when servicing your Chrysler, are able to maintain your service book, just as main dealer can ? thereby protecting your warranty and helping you to maximise the resale value of your Chrysler car.

Of course, booking direct with a national car servicing network has its own advantages:

Nissan, Renault Seek Stake in Chrysler

Chrysler has been in the news a lot lately, thanks mostly to owner Cerberus Capital Management publicly pronouncing that the automaker is for sale. Just one year after acquiring Chrysler from the company now known as Daimler AG, Cerberus wants to ditch Chrysler.

General Motors is the one Chrysler suitor who has been getting all of the attention lately, but that arrangement may not be made. Cerberus already owns 51% of GMAC, which is GM’s financing arm, and would love to purchase the remainder from GM. In exchange, Cerberus would unload Chrysler to GM who would presumably keep Jeep while cutting the Chrysler and Dodge brands.

The problem with General Motors is that the automaker is struggling financially itself and finding it difficult to arrange the financing to acquire Chrysler. Part of the acquisition costs of taking over Chrysler would be the cost to shut down excess plants while providing lucrative, but costly severance packages to tens of thousands of workers. GM is in no position to buy Chrysler unless the federal government intervenes. Right now, the feds are busy putting out fires caused by the mortgage meltdown, and has been paying scant attention to what is unfolding in Detroit.

The newest wrinkle in the Chrysler sale is that Nissan and Renault are reportedly interested in getting a piece of Chrysler. Right now, French automaker Renault owns 44% of Nissan, while Japanese automaker Nissan owns 15% of Renault. The two automakers have a unique business relationship that has successfully married two dissimilar brands with both companies sharing one CEO, Carlos Ghosn.

The terms of the Nissan-Renault bid have not been completely spelled out, but it would likely involve having Renault buying 20% of Chrysler and having Nissan foot the bill. Renault has several billion dollars of debt to contend with, while Nissan is awash in cash and could provide the funding for Renault.

An arrangement between Nissan, Renault, and Chrysler makes sense for two reasons:

Nissan and Chrysler have several new agreements already in place. These include Nissan building a small car for Chrysler’s Latin American network as well as providing a midsize car for Chrysler through the one of the company’s Tennessee factories. Chrysler has promised to provide the platform for the next generation Titan pick up truck which will likely be updated in 2011.

Renault could use Chrysler as a way to reenter the highly competitive US market. Back during the 1980s, Renault owned American Motors Company – which at that time owned Jeep – but sold the company to Chrysler who kept Jeep while tossing the AMC brand. Renault could supply some models for Chrysler and Dodge or even reintroduce its own branded cars through the Chrysler LLC dealer network. For its part, Renault could gain access to selling Jeep models across Europe.

As for GM, the company may not be left entirely out in the cold should Renault and Nissan get their way. Cerberus has been looking at acquiring the rest of GMAC, something GM could allow in exchange for some much needed cash and perhaps their own stake in Chrysler. Whatever takes place will likely happen fast – Chrysler being on the ropes does nothing to bolster consumer confidence, a surefire way to scare off potential buyers who are already being hammered by the worst financial crisis of this young century.

How Would The Bankruptcy Of Chrysler Affect Its Car Sales?

Would dealer’s sell Chrysler for more money? Less money? Or would the bankruptcy not affect sales at all?

Chrysler Post Bail Out: What’s Next?

13 November 2009 | No Comments » | admin

In all likelihood, the Bush Administration will approve of stop gap funding to help Chrysler and General Motors through the next few months. Indeed, with ten billion dollars in loan money to be earmarked, both car companies should be able to make it through the end of February 2009 without needing additional federal funding. By then, the Obama Administration will be in charge and a new Congress seated.

Depending on the terms of the agreement, Chrysler will quickly be faced with determining what sort of direction the company will go in. If a ?car czar? is appointed, that person may have broad power including deciding whether a company should be forced into bankruptcy or not. General Motors looks to be in better shape to delay that event from happening, but Chrysler likely will have to make some drastic decisions over the next few months in a bid to ensure its survival.

Some of the changes Chrysler will be making could be government mandated, such as having to lay off office staff, closed down excess production, perhaps even looking for a buyer for the company. Regardless, I see the following scenarios unfolding for Chrysler in 2009:

Models Canceled ? Within a few months of their release, Chrysler quickly canceled hybrid versions of its Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango sport/utility vehicles. Chrysler said that production would shift to the automaker’s large pickup truck, the Dodge Ram, but that isn’t likely to occur anytime soon as gas prices remain below two dollars a gallon nationwide. Also, don’t expect Chrysler to have the funds to bring a single one of its trio of electric vehicles to market. Some people think that they are vaporware to begin with ? I’m inclined to agree.

Projects Dropped ? Chrysler had arranged to have Chery Automotive of China build for it a small car, but that project has since been dropped due to Chrysler’s financial difficulties. Look for Volkswagen and Chrysler to revisit the Routan project with VW pulling out if Chrysler’s future looks especially bleak.

Viper Sold ? Chrysler has been shopping the Dodge Viper for several months now with no buyer announced. Expect that an European automaker will purchase the ?brand? for a song and move operations overseas.

Jeep Marketed ? As a last ditch effort, look for Chrysler to offer Jeep for sale to the highest bidder. Parent Cerberus Capital Management, LP is an equity brokerage company, a business whose sole design is to purchase hard assets (companies), build them up and sell them off. Jeep is the only one of Chrysler’s three remaining brands with a marketable book value ? look for someone to buy the brand in a bid to gain access to the US market.

Assets Sold ? Should things get really bad, look for Chrysler to sell off its remaining assets under the jurisdiction of the bankruptcy courts. Few Chrysler plants are worth that much money and no company wants to inherit the automaker’s legacy costs. However, selling off select assets such as their minivan program (Ford or GM would want them), the Dodge Ram (Nissan could be interested), even finding a home for the iconic Dodge Challenger may be possible. As mentioned, Jeep would find a home under the umbrella of some other company.

Chrysler’s chances of surviving on their own are between slim and none, but much closer to the latter than the former. If GM is able to come up with a healthy plan going forward, they’ll once again make a pitch for Chrysler in exchange for selling GMAC (or a portion thereof) to Cerberus.

If all of this sounds complicated, it is. The US auto industry is in a mess and it’ll take some extraordinary action from involved people to fix things over a lengthy period of time.

Sebring Chrysler – The Powerful, Feature-Laden, Solid Chrysler Sebring Convertible

11 November 2009 | No Comments » | admin

Sebring Chrysler has for many years been synonymous with a number of very desirable features in a convertible. Small wonder that this sought after Chrysler car has – according to many a Chrysler dealer – been selling around the front of the pack for a number of years!

While there are other convertibles with more power out there they generally cost more, while offering less space. And with the Sebring Chrysler’s 2.7 liter V6 and 200 horsepower at 5,900 rpm, there’s plenty of power to go around.

When you start putting that power to good use, you want to know you’re in full control. Therefore the assurance from Chrysler that structural bending in later models of the Sebring Chrysler has been reduced by up to 44% comes as a welcome relief, especially as far as Chrysler car insurance is concerned!

Over the years of developing the Sebring Chrysler, the company has ensured growing levels of satisfaction with a car that already stands out from the competition – even if it was just the chrome trim on the front grill, which made the 2005 Chrysler Sebring Convertible glitter in the sun, compared to its predecessor.

Owners of the 2006 Sebring Chrysler consider the car to be extremely quiet for a convertible, and – for those sunset beachfront cruises – there’s more than enough space for 4 adults to enjoy the scenery in quiet comfort.

Many Chrysler Sebring Convertible owners will confirm that running up a gas bill is less of a concern with the convertible Sebring Chrysler than with many other powerful convertibles, as the available engines offer good gas mileages.

While some reviews will describe the Chrysler Sebring Convertible as more of a ’sensible’ convertible than an ‘exciting’ one, not even critics will deny that you get many excellent features for the price. These include the V6, 16-inch aluminum wheels, a smoothly operating power top, a power driver’s seat and much more.

And about that power top: convertible-lovers will be pleased to know that the later Sebring Chrysler models include a system that combines the convertible top operation with lowering of the four windows. Press a single button to stow away the top, and simultaneously the windows are lowered…

On the safety side any new Chrysler car will reflect recent developments and advancements, and the Sebring Chrysler Convertible is no exception. A variety of safety enhancements have found their way into the later models, such as additional beams for the front doors, an improved safety cage, higher head restraints to reduce whiplash injuries, and safer multistage airbags.

Through the years the Chrysler Sebring Convertible has inspired a growing and loyal following, which is probably summed up appropriately in the words of an enthusiast after testing his newly acquired 2006 Sebring Chrysler: “Excellent braking, extremely maneuverable, great acceleration, reliable cars overall, my 4th Convertible Sebring Chrysler!”. Imagine this guy’s comment on the 2007 Chrysler Sebring!

So, if you have a set of Chrysler car keys, make sure they fit a Sebring Chrysler!

Chrysler the Rise Fall and Rise Again 1920-1970

9 November 2009 | No Comments » | admin

The Chrysler motor company was founded in 1925 by Mr Walter P Chrysler, the formation occurred when the Maxwell motor company was restructured into the Chrysler Corporation.

Walter Chrysler had been hired by the Maxwell Motor Company to sort out what was widely recognised as a company in crisis. Chrysler had a reputation as a no nonsense hard noised businessman which he earned when he turned around the fortunes of the severely ailing Willys car company.

Having firmly established himself in the hot seat at Chrysler, Walter Chrysler oversaw the production of the first automobile under the new Chrysler name. The new 6-cylinder Chrysler was generally well received by the press and public. The new Chrysler had been designed to give customers a well engineered car for a good price. It has been suggested by several people that many of the design elements of the new Chrysler had in fact been under development when Walter Chrysler was at the Willys car company. This suggestion has proved hard to substantiate.

Under the stewardship of Walter Chrysler the Chrysler motor company continued to innovate and to invest significant time and resources into research and development. This was an investment which paid off for Chrysler with the company becoming the second most prominent car company in the US market. Some of the many innovations of Chrysler included; the first mast produced four wheel drive hydraulic braking system, rubber engine mounts and a carburetor air filter.

Chryslers Dark Years the 1930s

During the 1930 Chrysler continued to innovate and actually produced the first range of cars widely available to the public constructed using the principles of air flow and aero dynamics. Chrysler even constructed the first wind tunnel in the automotive industry to do this, this required a significant investment. Sadly for Chrysler the investment although ground breaking failed to pay off. It appears the public were not keen on the new aero dynamic styling of the Chrysler and so turned away form the cars on mass. This significant reduction in revenues left the Chrysler Company unable to continue is investment in new technology at the same rate that it had previously, in fact it was sales of Dodge and Plymouth which kept the company going in the 1930s.

A Slow Recovery through the 1940s and 1950s

The disaster of the aero dynamic cars produced in the 1930s had a big effect on the overall psyche of Chrysler with the cars released in the 1940s and 50s distinctly conservative in design. Sales did grow in this period however as the company began to recover from the disastrous 1930s.

1960s Chrysler Returns to Innovation

Having made its recovery over the 1940s and 1950s Chrysler was now ready to start innovation again and the 60s kicked off with a significant innovation for Chrysler. In 1960 Chrysler became the first of the big three US automotive manufacturers to use Unibody construction. This construction technique, now a worldwide standard improved handling and safety during a crash. Throughout the 60s Chrysler increased its market share and continued to innovate producing the first car to use an alternator as standard. It has been pointed out by many automotive historians that while the Chrysler brand returned to the place of industry leading innovator during the sixties and its financial fortunes certainly improved, Chrysler had began to neglect the Dodge and Plymouth brands which had guided it through the treacherous decade of the 1930s.
