Most locksmiths are unable to be useful as a modern security expert without learning the newest devices. Due to the fast breakthroughs in biometric devices , a lock technician is not going to make it without adapting to most of these new locking systems. Virtually any expert Parker locksmith company ought to have the capacity to assist clients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A lot of the greatest businesses deliver these things which is why professional, authentic lock and security professionals rise above the cheap imitators.

Nowadays, individual safety can be a significant worry for most people, particularly in Colorado. It is a lock installer's job to guarantee the security and full satisfaction of every client in order to develop a trustworthy reputation. A genuine veteran should be prepared to discuss prices regarding tasks like replacement cylinder locks in advance of booking an appointment. Safety is a first-rate lock technician's top priority, so you should make sure to select correctly.

Following the Neon-based SRT-4 Sedan, the Dodge Caliber SRT-4 is coming back for 2008 after being discontinued in 2005, when in three years poor production persisted.

The 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT-4 will be offering Dodge?s compact front-drive Caliber package, along with packing a turbocharged and intercooled four-cylinder engine and racy styling. For the 2008 year version however, the Dodge Caliber SRT-4 will be having more power and better transmission. The new Caliber SRT-4 has also proved its safe worthiness after having achieved an EPA fuel economy of 21 mpg on city and 26 on highway. Pricing is at $23,990 and $22,995 for the base.

As with the old SRT-4, the speed of the new model is impressive ? taking you from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds. Priced with $19,999, the previous model is good to drive, aside from being a quiet machine. It had no muffler; instead, it relied on the turbocharger to keep the sound good enough to be legal. But, the new Caliber SRT-4 is sporting a muffler.

The new model?s turbocharged and intercooled 4-cylinder engine has the same displacement of 2.4 liters as with the old SRT-4, of which has enhanced power set at 285 horsepower (55 more than the old car) and 265 lb-ft of torque (15 better). Together with the mount of power, the weight and price followed, increased 10% and 15% respectively.

More than being equipped with premium Dodge axle assembly, the new Caliber SRT-4 features the same basic styling, as it has aggressive front end with multiple hood scoops and big grille openings feeding the intercooler. It comes closely comparable with the Dodge Charger SRT-8 with regards to the big five-spoke wheels; though the Caliber has oversized fender flares that make those wheels look quite small, while the finned rear bumper looks dorky.

Far from a usual sports car, the 2008 Caliber SRT-4 has tall and upright driving position. But, it is comfortable, if a little short on thigh support. The steering wheel and pedals are perfectly positioned though. Comparing it to regular Calibers, the SRT-4 has rearranged instrument cluster with the tachometer in the center and a turbo boost gauge.

Overall, most test drivers seem to like the old Caliber more than the latest, because the price and performance makes a big difference to be preferred.

Do you know exactly what your car’s exhaust system is for? Exhaust systems in Honda vehicles perform a very essential task but sadly, a lot of car owners take them for granted, paying attention only to the engine and other performance parts. Perhaps this explains why air pollution grows at a faster rate every minute.

In essence, the Honda exhaust takes out exhaust gases from the manifold to the atmosphere. The outcome is an improvement in engine performance. To lessen your vehicle’s toxic emissions, you can equip it with exhaust parts such as the catalytic converter to help complete the combustion of unburned fuel. Aside from the catalytic converter, other components of Honda exhausts include large tail pipes, headers, and free-flowing mufflers. Mufflers help get rid of the backpressure that usually occurs in exhaust systems.

To fully understand how the Honda exhaust system works, consider it as the respiratory system of your vehicle. The Honda exhaust helps expel harmful gases created in the engine’s internal combustion. In this system, the catalytic converter removes the toxic substances from the emissions and converts them to less harmful byproducts. The exhaust gases are also directed so that they can heat air and fuel before these elements are taken to the engine’s cylinders for combustion. Aside from dealing with exhaust emissions, the Honda exhaust helps the engine reduce its noise, saving you from the inconvenience of a bothersome ride. In a nutshell, the exhaust system of your car increases the engine’s efficiency, thus improving overall vehicle performance.

When your Honda exhaust starts to fail, better replace it with one of the quality Honda exhausts available in our site. You can have it at an affordable price and we’ll even ship it to your home. Rest assured you won’t have to worry if your exhaust does not function well.

Here is a truly amazing new sports car ? the KTM X-Bow. It is amazing in the way it looks, the way it is made and in its performance. So what is so special about the way it looks? Well, it has open wheels, with cycle type fenders, but you can hardly see them. At the front there is a big cowl which hides the wheels, but beneath that is a narrow chisel nose that is the front of the body, the engine being behind the cockpit.

On top of the engine is a curved cowl that acts as a cover, and provides some downforce at speed. Then, twin radiators are mounted each side of the engine, just behind the cockpit, where they partly conceal the engine and rear wheels. If you look from the back, you can see the rear suspension and a big muffler across the back with the exhaust coming straight out. This mufflers acts as a safety crash member, taking the impact in a crash.

One more thing that is different: the instruments and controls are all mounted in the hub of the steering wheel.

Austrian, with mid-engined layout

So who has produced this unusual sports car? KTM, the Austrian maker of high-performance off road motor bikes. Like KTM motorcycles, the X-Bow is a hot performer, without any creature comforts, and has shaken up the sports car world.

It has a carbon fiber body, made in Italy, which is one reason why this is a lightweight car, although not as light as the Lotus 2-11 or Caterham CSR, two competitors.

What is normal about it? Well, like the Lotus Elise, Exige and 2-11 sports cars the engine is mounted cross-wise in unit with the transaxle behind the cockpit, an arrangement which allows the use of a power train of a mass production front-drive car. In this case, the power train is the Audi two-liter turbo unit, developing 240 bhp.

All about performance without any frills

Like the Caterham and Lotus 2-11, the KTM X-Bow is all about performance. It can reach 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, and 100 mph in 8.5 seconds, which puts it up in the supercar category. For example, The acceleration is faster than the Audi R8, Jaguar XKR or Porsche Carrera S. It is matched by some other ultra-lightweight super sports cars like the Lotus 2-11, and is a little slower than the Caterham CSR, which reaches 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. Even so the performance is remarkable.

In some respects, the KTM X-Bow seems inspired by the Caparo T1, although it is slightly heavier and has half the power. Overall, the KTM X-Bow is an amazing addition to the sports car world.

Believe it or not, the electric car was invented a long, long time ago. In 1900, electric cars outsold both gasoline and steam vehicles because electric cars did not have the vibration, noise and dirtiness associated with gas vehicles.

But soon afterward with the discovery of Texas crude oil that reduced the price of gasoline, the invention of the electric starter in 1912 that eliminated the need for a hand crank, and the mass production of internal combustion engine vehicles by Henry Ford the electric vehicle went the way of the horse and buggy.

Back in the early 1920s when vehicles were becoming more popular, gasoline was very expensive. It also was hard to start a gasoline engine, you had to turn and turn and turn a crank in front of the car to get it to start.

They did not have a key to start the car like we do today. Gasoline vehicles were also noisy and put out lots of smoke. The cars either had no mufflers, or the mufflers did not do a good job. So, electric vehicles were a big hit. At one time there were 50,000 of them on the roads and streets of the United States.

So when the electric car was invented, it seemed to be the wave of the future and that was hundreds of years ago! Now that we have moved into the twenty first century, new electric cars are being invented that have become a new wave of the future.

Totally electric cars produce absolutely no pollution and are environmentally friendly like never before. Many car companies have invented hybrid electric cars that can give you longer traveling time by allowing you to switch from complete electric power to gasoline power. While not as completely pollution free, this type of electric car was invented for those people who needed to travel long distances but did not want to drive a completely gasoline powered vehicle.

As soon as the modern electric car was invented, it started a buzz among those who are passionate about the environment and keeping our world safe and healthy. But many of the large car companies are finding that producing the car and meeting the strict safety standards of the U.S. government has been difficult.

Ever since the electric car was invented, it seemed to be the answer to a lot of people prayers. The electric car is environmentally friendly and can meet the needs of the average person actually quite easily.

Believe it or not, electric cars have been around for a very long time. In the early 1900s, there were more electric cars than there were gasoline powered cars. Back in the early 1920s when vehicles were becoming more popular, gasoline was very expensive. It also was hard to start a gasoline engine, you had to turn and turn and turn a crank in front of the car to get it to start. There was no key to start the car like we have today.

Gasoline vehicles were also noisy and put out lots of smoke. The cars either had no mufflers, or the mufflers did not do a good job. So, electric vehicles were a big hit. At one time there were 50,000 of them on the roads and streets of the United States.

But electric cars soon faded away like the horse drawn carriage. New ways to make gasoline cheaply were being discovered. A new invention called an electric starter was made. It started an electric car with a key instead of a crank. A gasoline car could go much farther than an electric one. So, gasoline powered vehicles soon became the main method of transporting people.

Now that there is a push for cleaner green cars, electricity is once again being looked to as a way to help reduce greenhouse gases released into the air by gasoline and electric cars could be one of the answers to this problem.

Electric cars do not burn gasoline in an engine. They use electricity stored on the car in batteries. Sometimes, 12 or 24 batteries, or more, are needed to power the car. Just like a remote controlled, model electric car, electric cars have an electric motor that turns the wheels and a battery to run that motor.

To charge an electric cars batteries, the car is usually plugged in at night. Some electric cars can plug right into a regular electrical wall outlet. Others need a larger outlet, like the kind that a stove or electric clothes dryer plug into. Electricity, is then stored in the batteries of the car.

The batteries can be lead acid batteries, like the batteries you find in our flashlight or in regular gasoline cars. Or they can be ni cad nickel cadmium like the kind that run portable video recorders or a portable video game player only much larger. Better batteries that hold more energy and last longer are being developed. In 2001, by the time todays fifth graders are ready to drive, electric cars should be able to travel 150 to 200 miles before recharging.

Car manufacturers and scientists are constantly coming up with new ways to fuel our vehicles in a cleaner, more environmentally friendly way. The production of the electric car is an exciting one that is being embraced by more and more people every year.

I can’t say all the omens and warning signs weren’t there. They were, but my usually cheerful, almost euphoric mood that comes with the weekend, clouded my vision, and left all the signs invisible.

Using 20/20 hindsight, the first of several dark and forbodeing clouds to roll over the horizon was my wife’s departure by air for Los Angeles to v9isit her mother and sick stepfather. That was strike one in my weekend ballgame with fate.

The second strike whizzed by when my daughter announced that she and her hubby were leaving for Florida to attend a wedding, and that I had been chosen to baby-sit my grandson and granddaughter (7 and 8 years old respectively) for the entire weekend. Face it, who else could she choose with my wife gone and her regular babysitter on vacation.

The third strike occurred when I arrived home from work on Friday night at about 4 PM and found my cat (actually only a kitten), sitting transfigured, like a miniature version of the Great Sphinx

at El Giza, Egypt. He sat silently (stone cold dead) in the middle of the living room floor with a pained and mournful look on his face.

Later that evening I drove my 94 Citation to my daughter’s house to pick up my grandchildren, who at the time were at the time engaged in a scaled down version of WWWIII. They quickly agreed to a ceasefire when I promised to take them to McDonald’s some time over the weekend.

I drove straight to an empty apartment we own that I had an appointment to show to several prospective tenants. Of the several couples scheduled to see the apartment, some didn’t show up and the ones who did looked like people from another planet, if you get my drift.

After the last couple, it was now 5:30 PM, the rush hour in the downtown, and traffic was bumper-to-bumper. I was in a long line on a steep upgrade waiting for a red light to change when I heard a slight, almost inaudible click from somewhere deep in the guts of my car. When the light changed, I stepped on the gas pedal and the car would not move. Changing gears was to no avail. The car would not go forward, or backward. The man behind me was in a pickup truck with a long tandem trailer behind it, and when he saw we were disabled, he backed dup and this gave us just enough room to drift diagonally backwards into a designated customer parking space for a large paint, glass, and supplies store. I hailed one of the store clerks and told him we would move it as soon as we could.

The temperature was in the 90’s and the humidity was high. As we started the 10 block walk back to our apartment, my young grandson started picking up little items from the gutter, like a rusty Copenhagen snuff tin, which he wanted to use as a drinking cup. After I put the stoppers on that little project he started finding sticks to poke his sister with. Then he intoned the question “When are we going to McDonald’s?”

I said “Hold it, you forgot we don’t have a car and the nearest McDonald’s is out by the mall (roughly 2-3 miles away). His reply “But Granddad, we could walk.”. That did it! I took them upstairs to the apartment and made them cheese sandwiches.

The next morning, after discussing my car problems with a friend, I decided my transmission must have merely run out of fluid. Luckily (I thought) I have a ROV (Ratty Old Van) that I can use to go get transmission fluid and a funnel. My optimistic side kept telling me it couldn’t be a busted transmission, just one low on fluid.

I went downstairs, climbed into the ROV, put the key in the ignition and turned it. Nothing happened, not even a click. I learned later that my wife had forgotten to switch off the dome light when she left 5 days ago. I then called my son to ask him if he had a car I could borrow in case I needed it to go to work on Monday morning. He said “Sure, I have an old car that belonged to a friend of mine who left it with me to sell, after he had bought a new car. He said apologetically that the body was all smashed up but it was drivable. After talking with him I went down and attached my very slow trickle charger on the van battery.

At this point I decided to walk down to the auto parts store to get transmission fluid. After walking the 10 blocks (with grandkids in tow of course) I bought 4 quarts of transmission fluid and a long funnel. Arriving back at the car I followed the instructions on the bottle and determined from the transmission dipstick that the fluid level was fine so the only conclusion was that the transmission was probably kaput!

After the long trek back to the apartment, I finally was able to reach the transmission shop by phone. They promised free towing but didn’t know how soon they could do it, but they thought it would probably be some time Monday morning.

T went down to the van to see if the battery charger had done its job and once again I inserted the key and got no response, not even a click. I thought to myself that later in the afternoon, I would call my son and have him deliver the ROC (ratty old car), so I would have a way to work on Monday morning.

When I called, he reported that he had sold the car he was going to lend me and hour before I called and the buyer had driven ff in it.

At this point the horror story was far from over and believe me, I am not making any of this up. My son promised me he would come over and jump start my ROV so I would have transportation to work. He did, and after he left, late Sunday afternoon, I decided I would drive over to a neighboring town about 3 miles away to make sure the battery was well charged. I loaded up the 2 grandkids and set out. Everything was going fine until the muffler on the ROV fell off and was dragging on the pavement. I stopped, pulled what was left of it off and went on, the van sounding like a hot rod with dual Smitty’s for mufflers.

Next morning the transmission shop sent a driver to my workplace to get the keys to my disabled car. When I got off work that evening I drove the ROV complete with double Smitty sound over to the transmission shop. They informed me that the transmission was completely shot and since this model had a torque converter, there would be an extra $250 charge on top of the $550 for the transmission job.

By this time I was so beaten down by the whole affair that I just handed over my credit card and told them to go ahead and do the rebuild. The straw that broke the camel’s back came when I finally got the car back on Thursday. and found a $15 parking ticket issued by the local police at 7:50 AM, about 15 minutes before the tow truck from the transmission shop had arrived. I just shook my head and started mumbling something about this affair being enough to enrage the “Good Humor man”.

Electric cars are not a new concept as we think, people hve been using them for a long time .In fact in the 1900’s people used more electric cars than cars run on gas.In the 1920’s when the popularity for cars was growing, gas was very costly.Starting a gas run car was also a very tedious process, there was no key to ignite the engine, in fact a rod used to fit into the front of the car which had to be turned round and round to get the car started.

Not only were gas run cars tedious to start , they emitted alot of smoke and were very noisy, as either the mufflers used were not good or there were no mufflers at all. Beleive it or not , at one point of time electric cars were so popular that there were about 50,000 electric cars running on the streets of United States .

As new discoveries were underway to make gasoline cheaper, electric cars started disappearing from the market. The discovery of the electric starter made way for the exit of the crank and the car was started with a key.A car run on gas could travel more distance than the electric car. Thus cars run on gas started getting more pouplar than the electric car.

Now, once again because of the awareness towards protecting the environment and reducing the dangers caused by the emission of the greenhouse gases ” green ” electric cars are once again getting
popularized.

Gasoline is not used to run an electric car, it runs on the energy stored in batteries in the car. 12,14 or more batteries may be needed to run the car.The operation of the electric car is similar to that a remote controlled one since both have an electric motor that turns the wheel and a battery that that runs the motor.

Charging of the batteries can either be done all night or some cars need to be plugged into a standard electric wall. There are some which need a large electric outlet, something like what is used for an electric stove or electric clothes dryer. These are the various ways electricity is stored in the cars.

The batteries used to run the cars have to be either lead acid batteries, similar to those used in torch lights or ni-cad (nickel-cadium) used to run portable viodeo recorders or video games , only much larger in size. A lot of work is going on to upgrade the batteries to hold more energy and last longer. By the time the fifth graders in 2001 are ready to drive we should have electric cars which will be able to travel 150 to 200 miles before needing to get recharged.

Manufacturers of cars and scientists are making constant endeavours to make better cars which will be more eco-friendly. The revival of electric cars and the challenge to make them more attractive is on in a big way and enticing more people to switch over to electric cars.
